San Francisco is one of the most romantic cities in the world, so if you’ve been thinking about paying the place a visit with a loved one then you can be sure that you’re going to make some unforgettable memories.

In fact, whether you’re taking a cruise from San Francisco, driving your way slowly through the West Coast’s highways and stopping off at every spot or simply flying there for a couple of days at an Airbnb, San Francisco has got plenty to offer couples. Here’s what you need to know.

1.    Start the fun on the plane

If you’re flying to San Francisco, your vacation starts as soon as you leave for the airport. Depending upon where you’re flying from, it can be a pretty long flight, so make sure that you pack all of the essentials. Why not start the fun on the plane by ordering an in-flight drink or two and then looking back over some of your old photos?

2.    Visit a spa together

There’s very little that’s as romantic as going off on a couple’s spa day. Your tensed-up muscles will turn to mush beneath the hands of San Francisco’s skilled masseuses, and there are plenty of different spas in the city for you to choose from.

Some even have special offers for couples, especially around key holidays like Valentine’s Day. Just be sure to book in advance if you want to guarantee your place.

3.    Watch the sun set over the water

Because San Francisco is situated right on the coast, it offers plenty of stunning views over the water, whether you’re at the harbors or whether you’re on the beaches.

For best results, enjoy this suggestion with a light picnic of local provisions or make it easy and order take out.

4.    Hire a helicopter

Seeing San Francisco from the air is a truly unforgettable experience, whether you’re witnessing it by night or by day. Watching it from the small window of an airplane is no match for getting up close and personal with it in a helicopter, though.

Sure, it’s expensive and not something to do every day, but there’s stiff competition between providers and so you can find San Francisco helicopter charters relatively cheap for an anniversary surprise.

5.    Stroll through Golden Gate Park

What’s more romantic than strolling hand-in-hand through Golden Gate Park with the person you love? You’ll see the city in a completely different light and get a sense of how interconnected all of the people’s lives are. It’ll give you a sense of perspective, but it’ll also give you some time alone just to chat and enjoy each other’s company.

Conclusion

Now that you know a few of the most romantic spots in San Francisco, it’s over to you and your significant other to start making plans and finalizing an itinerary.

If you want to be particularly romantic, consider booking a few surprises for each other. It’s a great way to make a memorable, romantic experience even more memorable. Happy travels!
