Pretty Beach House, Pretty Beach
Located on a hilltop overlooking the cinematic view of Bouddi National Park and Broken Bay, Pretty Beach House is one of those secluded romantic getaways that keeps people coming back for more.
A member of the Luxury Lodges of Australia collection, Pretty Beach House has four private pavilions with a total of eight guests at a time, and as well as enjoying dinner in the restaurant you can request a candlelit table in the stunning wine cellar.

If you’re feeling energetic you can go mountain biking or hike through bushland down to the beach. Or you can just lounge by the infinity pool or get pampered with plant-based spa services when you’re not snuggled up in your pavilion.
Spicers Sangoma Retreat Tent Suite
At the adults only Spicers Sangoma Retreat in the Blue Mountains, every suite has a romance of its own, but our top pick has to be the stunning Tent Suite.
The luxurious canvas tent is elegantly furnished with plush linens, an overhead chandelier, a gorgeous open-plan bathroom with a freestanding bathtub, and private sun lounges overlooking the forest canopy.
When you want to leave your secluded tent for a little while you can take a dip in the solar-heated infinity lap pool and enjoy fresh, organic produce from the Hawkesbury region in the Amara Restaurant. And while you could enjoy a drink in the bar with other guests, your mini-bar is also replenished daily so you can slip back to your tent to enjoy sundowners for two.
Currajong Retreat, Burragate
On the NSW Sapphire Coast, this romantic getaway doesn’t just have a big bed for two, it has a bath to share under the stars.
At Currajong Retreat your luxury tent includes a lovely large ensuite with a waterfall shower that’s also big enough for two, and a fully equipped kitchenette.

Start and end your day on the veranda overlooking the Towamba River, and in between, you can go hiking and exploring. Though there’s nothing wrong with staying right here and forgetting about the world outside.
Currajong Retreat is also a working angora goat farm and if you’re there during kidding season you’ll get to see gorgeous baby goats frolicking around, and may even get to bottle feed one if any of those tiny tots need some extra milk in their bellies.
Paperbark Camp, Jervis Bay
Surrounded by bush and just a few kilometres from the super soft beach sands of Jervis Bay, Paperbark Camp is a sublime sanctuary where you can relax and reconnect.
The intimate canvas safari-style tents come with a choice of king or twin beds, along with private en suite bathrooms with a freestanding bath and shower.

Plan a romantic candlelit dinner with sumptuous food and wine and dance under the stars. Immerse yourself into the scenic views of eucalyptus and paperbarks, be soothed with the sea breeze, and nourish your soul with the sound of nature.
Kookawood, Rydal
Would you prefer to soak in the indoor or outdoor clawfoot bathtub? At Kookawood in the Blue Mountains, this is the sort of tough decision you’ll have to face, though with these views we have a feeling the outdoor tub might win most rounds.
This stone and timber beam farmhouse is strictly adults-only, which considering you’re looking for secluded romantic getaways shouldn’t be a problem.

The house is packed with antiques and curios, as well as modern conveniences including a Smart TV and all of the Foxtel channels.
There are two bedrooms to choose from, both with gorgeous views, a cosy reading nook, a huge collection of DVDs, and an open fireplace. Little wonder Kookawood was featured in Country Style Magazine and considered one of the Best Romantic stays in NSW by the Sun Herald.
Lyra, Kangaroo Valley
Halfway between the villages of Berry and Kangaroo Valley, with views over the Barrengarry Mountain range, Lyra is a lovely three bedroom cottage that can sleep up to six guests but is also a when you want a romantic retreat you can happily keep it to just two.
Surrounded by rainforest, the cottage has been built with materials sourced from the property including rocks found on the land and timber felled on-site. Curl up in front of the indoor fireplace, cook up dinner in the wood-fired pizza oven, and share a bottle of your favourite drop.
And in this home don’t forget to lookup. In the kitchen you’ll see the vintage market stamps from the recycled Kangaroo Valley Hall ceiling, and if you’re lucky you may even spot an eagle soaring overhead through the glass roof panels as you lie back and on the lounge.
Nimbo Fork Lodge, Snowy Valleys
With sweeping views over the Tumut River, Nimbo Fork Lodge is a Snowy Valleys gem.
While there are suites available in the main lodge building, we’d recommend booking one of the cottages to feel a bit more secluded. All six Nimbo Fork cottages feature large rear terraces, opulent en suites and baths with a view.
Nimbo Fork Lodge is also home to Three Blue Ducks’ latest restaurant. Bookings are essential for this one so make sure you book a table as soon as you book your room so you can dine on fresh, seasonal produce from the Riverina district, Three Blue Ducks style.
Worrowing Wilderness Hut, Jervis Bay
At Worrowing Jervis Bay they have a lot of ways to stay on their historic 250-acre coastal farm, including a large house, some cottages, a boat shed and some stables but for a romantic getaway, we’ve got our eyes on the Worrowing Wilderness Hut.
There are actually three wilderness huts, set around 150ms apart, so if you want to avoid seeing or hearing anyone at all this one won’t be the right fit.

But each of the studio cabins is private and self-contained, with private fire pits and BBQs outside, queen beds and bathtubs inside, and Smart TV with streaming services ready to roll for those who bring their own accounts.
The huts are not only a great spot to get away from it all but to use as a base when you want to explore Jervis Bay’s seaside villages, white-sand beaches, and National Parks.
Turon Gates, Capertree
Another one of our secluded romantic getaways in NSW’s Capertee Valley, at Turon Gates you can choose to stay in private log cabins or luxury glamping tents.
As much as we think the log cabins would make pretty sweet retreats, we’re thinking the glamping tents are the winners on the romance front.
You can grab a book and read in the hammock, barbeque up some dinner over the fire pit and stargaze at the constellations above with your favourite wine in hand.
Cedars Mount View, Hunter Valley
An oasis of calm and comfort, Cedar Mountain View is an adults only retreat with four luxurious self-contained villas that have a fair bit going on in the romance stakes.
As well as the spa tubs for two, dual rain showers, fireplaces and private balconies with vineyard or mountain views you also have king beds, infrared saunas, and well-equipped kitchens if you want to make something special and stay in.
Each of the villas is set on its own area on the 94-acre mountain property so you can feel nice and secluded while still being a short drive from great wineries and Hunter Valley attractions.
Crystal Creek Rainforest Retreat, Tweed Valley

At La Riveraine in Bar Point, you can’t just drive up to the house. There are no roads or shops in this isolated corner of the Hawkesbury. Here you need to take a boat to the beautifully restored 1950’s boatshed, which is where the romance begins.
As well as having a big day bed and cane chairs in the boat shed, at La Riveraine you also have a lovely cottage for two. The romantic bedroom has a queen-size bed and river views, the luxurious bathroom has French doors that open out onto the palm garden, there’s a well-equipped chef’s kitchen and a private terrace where you can dine alfresco.
Guests can relax in the secluded spa pool, hammock, or recliner. Have fun swimming and snorkelling, and if you like a spot of fishing you can grill your fresh catch on the BBQ as you watch the sunset.
Leura Couples Getaway, Leura Village
Love is in the air at the Leura Couples Getaway in the Blue Mountains.
This dreamy secluded romantic getaway features a cheerful open-plan interior, elegant bedroom, a bath with a separate shower, a well-equipped kitchen, and other amenities for a comfortable stay.

As well as being lovely and private this romantic retreat is surrounded by lush vegetation and has its own natural spring where you can fill your water bottles.
To really treat yourselves if you book ahead you can request spa treatments and massages, as well as organic gourmet grazing boards to enjoy with a great bottle of wine on your deck.
Banjara Retreat, Mountain Lagoon
Surprise your partner with a romantic trip to Banjara Retreat at Mountain Lagoon, just a stone’s throw away from the Wollemi National Park.
This self-contained luxury suite includes beautiful spotted gum flooring, large glass doors that open out onto the deck, an elegant bedroom with 100% pure linen sheets, a modern bathroom with a stone basin, a high-end kitchen with Miele appliances, and other essential amenities.

The Slab Hut, Leicester Park
While this one may not be everyone’s idea of a romantic getaway, The Slab Hut is a fantastic base for couples who want to experience the romance of stepping back in time.
Built in 1865 this lovingly restored historical treasure features a rustic open plan kitchen, living and dining room with a wood-burning potbelly stove. If it gets chilly there are luxurious possum fur throws for the bed and you can also fire up the fire pit outside and toast marshmallows under the stars.
There are lots of bushwalks and nature trails to explore and when you feel like popping back into civilisation The Slab Hut is just minutes away from Mittagong and Bowral.
