Now they are traveling around the world reviewing rooftops as a full time job and visiting more than 500 rooftops in the past two years. Their favorite city so far is Hong Kong as they share in their guide to all of the best rooftop bars in Hong Kong.
But how about the rest of the world? Here Hans and Rikard share their seven favorite rooftops from all over the world, mixing fantastic places with breathtaking views and refreshing cocktails.
Marina Bay Sands Skypark – Singapore
The best rooftop bar we have visited. This place has everything: the world’s coolest and highest infinity pool, palm trees, sun loungers, top notch service, amazing 360 degree views of Singapore, nice drinks and tasty food. If you’re in Singapore, you must not miss Marina Bay Sands. Here you’ll get a memory for life.

The Presslounge – New York
A luxurious roof terrace with one of New York’s best skyline views over Manhattan and its skyscrapers. Everything here oozes quality. To the west you have panoramic views of Hudson River and to the east over Manhattan. If you time a sunset here, you are guaranteed a magical moment. There’s also a really nice party atmosphere on the terrace day and night.
Wooloomooloo* – Hong Kong
If you like a grand city view, there’s no place better than Wooloomooloo in Hong Kong where you get sweeping views of the Hong Kong skyline and its surroundings. The bar offers tasty cocktails in a pleasant atmosphere. When darkness falls and the city turns into a colorful spectacle with all the lightning from the skyscrapers, you’ll be stunned how beautiful Hong Kong can be.
La Dolce Vitae – Barcelona
On the rooftop of Barcelona’s Majestic Hotel and Spa you get the best view in the city with 360 degree views over the city and the Mediterranean. The feeling on the terrace is always pleasant and when the live DJs play it turns into a nice party atmosphere. If you put great value in service and tasty cocktails, this place will not disappoint either.
SushiSamba – London
Europe’s highest rooftop bar is found at an altitude of approximately 200 meters. Here you’ll get amazing views over London’s famous buildings and monuments. Apart from the fantastic view, the best thing here is the food with Asian cuisine to die for. Every little thing about the food is top notch and this is heaven for all food lovers. Service is also of the highest class.
Le 360 – Cannes
The best rooftop bar in the French Riviera is found on top of Cannes’ Radisson Blu. Here you get fantastic 360 degree views over the Mediterranean, Cannes city and the surrounding mountains. Very beautiful. The terrace is equipped with lots of seating and cool furniture. The perfect place for a romantic date at sunset.
Flair at Ritz Carlton – Shanghai
If you want a grand view of Shanghai’s skyline, there’s no better place than Flair at the Ritz Carlton. From Shanghai’s tallest building you get an amazing view over the skyscrapers and Pudong. The service is super good and the cocktails are to die for. Reserve a table further out on the terrace and you will be stunned by the awesome setting.
